The Detroit tigers have had
an interesting time playing the last couple of weeks, as they have had
their share of exciting events. Eric Munson managed to get jammed,
break a bat to smithereens and hit a soaring home run on Saturday,
July 3rd, 2004. Ivan Rodriguez is named player of the month for June.
On Tuesday night, July 6th, 2004, Ivan Rodriguez got hit by Tanyon
Sturtzes fastball in the elbow, but still vowed to start in
Wednesday’s game. He was back in the line up, but in the first inning
on the way back to the dugout after arguing a called third strike he
was ejected. Then manager Alan Trammell stood up for his playing by
arguing the call and ended up having to watch the game on a television
because he was also ejected. Bobby Higginson explained, "When you're
in battle, things happen. We're teammates and we stick up for each
other. These ejections made Pudge tally two for the year and Trammell
tally three, and together they make the eight ejections in the last
five games.
Comerica Park is where the Detroit Tigers let out their roar. This
baseball field is full of baseball atmosphere for every fan. There is
a Ferris wheel, a huge water feature that can be choreographed to any
music and is described as “water fireworks”, a walk-through baseball
museum, and especially a baseball field. The field has the largest
score board in the MLB. Center field is open to downtown Detroit so
the view is wondrous. |
